Chihuahua Puppies Need A Good Breeder
Written by Matt Jones on May 12th, 2008Chihuahua Puppies are very small fragile animals and can rather easily catch quite a large variety of different diseases. They also are prone to other health problems and so you don’t want to go spending your hard earned cash to buy a sickly Chihuahua (even if you do feel sorry for it).
For chihuahua puppies to keep healthy and strong they need to have a good breeder. A good breeder needs to be knowledgeable and responsible towards the Chihuahua Puppies.
A responsible breeder screens their breeding stock for Luxating Patella (OFA) and eye diseases (CERF) which are to two hereditary diseases commonly found in Chihuahuas. Both dogs need to pass this test and if they fail the test hat dog will not be used to breed as it is more likely to pass the disease down to its children. Evolution in action!
Breeding the dogs with this screening process makes it more likely healthy ones are born who will live longer happier lives and make you more happy too.
If the breeder you are thinking of buying from can’t show you certificates that the Chihuahua Puppies have passed this test it is very important that you do not buy the puppies they have for sale.
